The end of term has finally rolled around (yay for holiday!) Now you can take a well-deserved break and have some fun.
Why not make the most of your holiday season by trying something new? No worries, here at the Squad Spot, we’ve got your back. That’s why we’ve rounded up some pretty awesome things to do that may be completely out the norm for you.
Take a look at the list below and see what you could be getting up to these December holidays.
If you don’t already know what a silent disco or party is, the idea is pretty simple: It’s a dance party with a twist. You wear headphones with a radio/Bluetooth transmitter and everyone listens to the music through the headphones. Brilliant, keep jamming past curfew and keep the folks sweet with no noise pollution or complaints.
It’s fairly easy to set up your own silent party (check out YouTube for DIY tips), or alternatively, you can rent the equipment.

Travel through space, our solar system, climb Mount Everest, go skydiving or explore the deepest reaches of the Atlantic Ocean. Sounds awesome, right?
All you need for an immersive experience is a virtual reality headset of which there are quite a few options to pick from. We recommend the Google Cardboard viewer (which is pretty simple to make), download the Google Cardboard app and slide your Smartphone inside to get started.
Gather your squad for some fun in the sun! There’s a ton of music festivals, no matter what your vibe, over this season. Don’t know what’s on? Check online for upcoming gigs in your area.
Just remember to take the essentials: water, sunscreen and a good attitude. Read on for our top tips on surviving a South African music festival here.
Now that you have our top boredom buster ideas, there’s no excuse not to try something new.
We hope you have a wonderful break and go back to term refreshed and ready to rock the new school year.
Do you have any interesting or unique boredom busters that we haven’t included here? Why not share them with us on our Facebook page.
